Coroglen Alpacas

We invite you to share our peaceful country location at the base of Karina Rock, an old volcanic chimney! Just north of historic Coroglen along State Highway 25, we have a 17 acre lifestyle farm with one cat, alpacas and a few cattle. 

Coroglen Lodge is situated in a relaxing rural setting south of Whitianga surrounded by farmland and nice views of the Whitianga Estuary and Coromandel mountain ranges. Our garden is frequently visited by native birds including Tuis, Bellbirds, Rosellas, Pukeko, Herons, wild native pigeons and on still nights, we hear Kiwis call! Ideally located midway between the township of Whitianga and the Cooks Beach / Hahei / Hot Water Beach recreational areas, we have easy access to all!

Hill Country Alpacas
We are a small lifestyle farm midway between Katikati and Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty and would love to share our passion and enthusiasm for all things alpaca with you. We usually have around 30 Huacaya alpacas in a range of colours, although we specialise in white. We also breed coloured sheep, predominantly Corriedale for their fine wool and now have Angora goats for their beautiful fibre also. 

Our aim is to maximise the fantastic properties of their fibre to produce stunning yarn and woven products. We have our own “cottage industry” picker and carder for processing the fibre and 2 looms for creating woven products.

Minffordd Alpaca Farm
Minffordd cottage and alpacas is well established and welcomes old and new friends at any time. The cottage has seen many New Zealand and international visitors, several of whom return again and again. As well as offering accommodation at Minffordd Cottage, they have been breeding Alpacas since 2004. We have discontinued selling products as we do not have the time, but we can often point people in the direction of one of the many people making wonderful products from alpaca in New Zealand.

Moonacre Alpacas

We welcome everyone to visit our gorgeous Alpacas at the farm and view our proudly NZ-made products. We are situated at 506 Rawhitiroa Road, Eltham, en route to the scenic Lake Rotokare Reserve, we have a herd of over 60 Huacaya Alpacas. Our Alpacas have a low impact on the land and are sustainable and environmentally friendly to farm. 

You can come and be amongst these animals so revered for their fleece and gentle, tranquil nature. 

We have devoted areas to the planting of native flora and also have a dairy farm with around 500 milking cows, a small mob of Wiltshire/Dorper cross sheep, two goats and one miniature horses – plenty of animals to provide entertainment.

Group and Bus Tours are very welcome in which we offer the chance to walk through and feed the Alpacas.

Nevalea Alpacas
We Nevalea Alpacas, the largest alpaca farm in New Zealand, is home to over 800 friendly alpacas. We offer visitors ‘The Ultimate Alpaca Experience’ and have a range of different activities to choose from to give visitors an opportunity to get up close to the alpacas, hand feed them and feel just how soft and cuddly the alpacas are.

Revelation NZ Alpaca Stud
At Manuka Cottage Farm we run a pedigree Alpaca Stud – Revelation NZ Alpaca Stud – and breed and sell alpacas, and sell their fibre products. To compliment this we also have farm tours (by arrangement) so that people can get up close with these wonderful animals, learn about them and experience their wonderful fibre in person. And our visitors also enjoy our sheep, dogs and free range hens – often leaving with some of our delicious free range eggs tucked under their arm. We have a small farm shop where you can enjoy wonderful crafts and Alpaca products, as well as original NZ watercolour artwork for sale.

Te Korito Alpacas

Te Korito Alpacas is a smaller lifestyle farm and home to a herd of around 20 breeding alpacas. We are located next to the Whanganui river, just a pleasant 15 minute drive out of town. We have owned alpacas since 2009.

Experience these beautiful animals for yourselves. During your visit, you can meet and interact with our alpacas, feed them leaves and a variety of treats, lead them on a walk and take lots of photographs. After this, visitors can see and feel raw, cleaned and processed fleeces. We also have a range of alpaca fleece products for sale – hand-knitted and hand-crochet products, all made from our own alpaca fibre. We are very happy to share our alpaca knowledge and experience with all visitors, prospective and new alpaca owners.

Altnaharra Alpacas, Nelson

Our 26 acre farm is set in the picturesque Tasman region with spectacular mountain and sea views. Our region is extremely popular with tourists who love walking the Abel Tasman park and eating the delicious produce from our region. It is also the home of our herd of 27 prizewinning alpacas which we have bred and showed since 2002. We utilise the luxury fibre from our animals, working on our property to produce quality felt items on our state of the art needle felting machine. Establo Alpaca Farm

Establo Alpaca Farm is located just 6km from Dunedin’s town centre, and situated on a hill suburb offering wonderful views of the city and ocean. We have farmed alpacas since 2004 and currently have 27 alpacas grazing over 10 acres. Due to the friendly and inquisitive nature of these animals you will be able to hand feed and get up close to them. Salvator is our most photographed alpaca. At 3 years of age he is very gentle and patient with people, and is very photogenic.

During the tour you will learn more about these unique animals and their luxurious fibre. There is also the opportunity to purchase high quality hand-made EL-PACA products made from our finest alpaca fibre. We also stock other high quality New Zealand made alpaca products such as hand spun and naturally dyed yarn, duvets and throws. We have recently converted our barn into our shop and include it in our tour. The historic Blue Stone Barn was built in the early 1860s and is one of New Zealand’s oldest farm buildings. Our farm not only has wonderful views over the city, but is an historical site, featuring stone walls which once marked the path gold miners used when travelling to the Central Otago Goldfields in the 1860s. It was also the site of one of Dunedin’s earliest hotels – the Settlers Arms, which was opened by the original farm owners – the Kedzlie family. There are also 150 year old Macrocarpa and apple trees on the property.
